This one is a dirty Chimera
They made the hero a killer, the woman he is supposed to fall in love with is married to the resident doctor, the good-guy sheriff is part of a drug ring, and they introduce plot lines from the middle of the book within minutes of the first episode. I am a true Stephen King fan. And when I send 1200 pages getting to know each character intimately, I want to see that translated to the screen. As a bibliophile I’ve become accustom to the vast liberties movies take with characters (both ones that make it to the film, and those that are cut out or merged), but this was a straight up butching job. Boo Hiss to whoever shredded the movie and modge podged it together for the screenplay. You did a disservice to King and his fans by changing things too much. I made myself finish one episode. I will not be stomaching a second.
Pass on the show, read the book (it’s AMAZING!)
