Winter's Heart
Series: Wheel of Time / Book: 9

I took a long break last year with the Wheel of Time series, but now I’ve picked up book 9 of the collection and I’m off again on my love for this storyline. In this novel we catch a quick glimpse at the heart-sinking turn of events for Perrin…but only briefly. The majority of the book follows three paths; the first is Elayne’s journey to establish herself as the rightful successor to the thrown in Andor. The second is Rand’s (and Min’s) mission to clean the male half of the Power. And finally, Mat’s sticky plan to get away from Queen Tylin and also to sneak Aes Sedai damane out from under Seanchan noses.
Each of these storylines is captivating, and had me hungry to find out what was coming next. This series is so long, that there are bound to be some dry portions…but I’ll tell you, for me, this book didn’t have one. There is plenty of action and anticipation with Rand hunting down rebel Asha’man and Mat trying to keep his secrets to get out of Ebou Dar. I flew through the pages and couldn’t wait to find out whether Rand would be successful in cleaning saidin. Usually I will stick some random book from my reading list in between each Wheel of Time book, but I just had to see where the adventures turned next, so I’m going straight from book nine to book ten.
Malia's Pizza Rating
The Far Madding. A pizza so rich and filling coupled with that empty feeling when your pizza is gone from your life (…for now).
