Will Save the Galaxy for Food

In this book, written by a popular game reviewer, we find ourselves on a wild ride through space with a down-on-his-luck pilot who spent his young life saving the galaxies and is now scrapping by giving tourism flights. That is until he is hired on by one of the richest men in the cosmos to entertain his son and pretend to be his favorite space hero. But everyone has a plan until you get punched in the mouth…and this pilot has gotten more than he has bargained for. What lies in store for this rag-tag aviator takes him to infinity and beyond! (ok, that was a bit much)
I didn’t really know what to expect from this book; I literally picked it up because it sounded funny and fit into my 2019 POPSUGAR reading challenge. My husband listened to the beginning with me and knew right away who the author was. I have to say, this was a respectable storyline, but was made so much better by the quips and sense of humor throughout. I found myself smirking and picturing this novel as a comical movie as it played out. I have to admit there were a few times where I found myself startled by an abrupt scene change, but I also have to admit that this may have been because I had zoned out just a little too much for a moment or two. Other then that qualm I think this was a really fun read that went by quickly and gave me an author’s voice that was interesting and refreshing.
I would recommend this book if you like the silliness of the 90’s movie Galaxy Quest
