Remo is a high-powered defense attorney who has made a nice life out of getting very nasty people out of legal trouble. In a moment of conscience Remo decided to throw a case to put some really horrible criminals behind bars. Now they’ve escaped prison and are coming for revenge. Can Remo outrun and outsmart these bad guys? Or will he end up another of their victims?
This was a fun and quick read. The writing style is very heavy leaning into the pulp fiction genre…and I thought it was highly satisfying. There is a lot of adult language, but I don’t blink at that sort of thing. The characters are all quite sassy and hard-edged but I found them to be well written and for such a quick novel I found each to have a lot of depth. Due to the fact that the book is short, the storyline clips right along and before you know it, you’re to the final shoot out scene.
I think this book would be right up your alley if you liked the wittiness of Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang or the crazy plot of the 1967 film Point Blank.
