It's All Fun and Games
This was the book from my final Book Bath Box. It follows a group of high schoolers on a weekend LARPing (Live Action Role Playing) trip through the woods. That is until they are magically transported to the fantasy world they have been pretending to play in. Now all bets are off and getting hurt (or killed) is real. How do these kids fair in their new surroundings? And can they defeat their foes and find a portal back to their world? Pick up this spellbinding book to find the answers.
Dave Barrett does an amazing job telling an immersive tale in just a few short pages. I was surprised at how much adventure was tightly packed in to the quick read. There is plenty of character development and edge of your seat action. I was constantly wondering how the author was going to get them through an adventure AND back home when I was already half way through the book. I was surprised by the ending that’s for sure!
I would recommend this one to your young ones who liked the LOTR movies or the Redwall series by Brian Jacques.
