A Grown-Up Guide to Dinosaurs
Remember when, as children, we learned about dinosaurs and there was so much excitement about picking a favorite dinosaur and learning all the “did you know” facts about your favorite? What happens as we grow up? It seems most adults lose interest in these incredibly archaic beasts. This short book from Audible Originals takes us back to those feelings of awe and adds a little spice for science loving adults.
I have to say, this was a really well thought out book. Garrod does an amazing job of reminding the listener of how wonderful the dinosaurs were, but he also gives a lot more history and background to the time periods that would be lost on most 5th graders. It’s amazing to be reminded of how ancient our planet is, how many times there have been mass extinctions, and how species persevere through it all. There are several paleontologists interviewed who give great insight into what is being discovered today and what the most modern theories are within their fields.
This was a fantastic listen, but would make a great documentary or docu-series. I would suggest this read if your documentaries queue in Netflix is never ending.
