The Dragon Reborn
Series: The Wheel of Time / Book: 3

This third book in the Wheel of Time series, for me, all boiled down to fighting. Rand is at war with the Dark One and is also fighting off his progression into madness. Mat is fighting to keep the important women in his life safe. The Aes Sedai ladies are fighting the Black Ajah. And Perrin is fighting to resist his fate with the wolves and a falcon. All of these storylines come to a head in the land of Tear inside the Heart of the Stone.
It’s becoming a little difficult to review these books and not say the same thing each time. I loved this installment in the series, but it was the first time I felt like the storyline didn’t completely wrap itself up; or maybe it was that the ending felt a bit rushed in the wrap up. This wasn’t overly concerning to me since I know there is so much more to come. I also finally have a little more of an idea after this book as to how it will open itself up to a full 14 book series with the Forsaken returning and the prophecies that must be fulfilled before the Dragon Reborn and the Dark One can have their final battle. All in all I continue to adore these books, and I can’t wait to pick up the 4th one to see what rabbit hole it leads me down.
I would recommend this book (obviously if you have started the series) to those who like the magic section of fantasy, as this book really begins to show the power of the new Aes Sedai women and Rand’s development as well.
