OK, so I was searching around for a book that would fit my reading challenge category of “A book from the decade you were born.” This is a much harder task then I thought it would be, as most books to describe what decade they’re set in. So I picked out a book that was already on my Kindle that was filled with 80’s songs and references. Love in Rewind is the love story of a young girl who sets her eyes on a dreamy billionaire and finds herself in the middle of a whirlwind romance that never seems to end. Will this love last through the ages like her lover promises it will? Pick up this addicting book to find out.
As I found myself a little ways into the book, I noticed the similar storyline to the hit 50 Shades franchise. Due to James' poor research into the BDSM community, I’ve never read the 50 Shades of Grey books on principle. I think this book by Alexander is MUCH better if you liked the racy sex scenes from the 50 Shades books, but this series comes without the consent issues the other books have. This book is not for everyone, as there are pretty explicit sex scenes throughout the majority of the novel. With that being said, I found the romance and the sex well written and highly addicting. I flew through this one since I just had to find out the next piece to the story…and the piece after that, etc. I thought I had the last few pages to wrap up the storyline, only for the author to drop a juicy cliffhanger in the last lines. I quickly did a search to find that there are at least two other books to this series. I’ll be picking them up in the near future for sure!
I would recommend this one to the fans of the 50 Shades books and movies. Please, someone read this and let me know how it compares to the blockbuster hit.
