The adventure continues and I’m half way through! In the 7th book we find Rand recently rescued from the clutches of the Aes Sedai and he goes on to move more chess pieces (i.e. allies and followers) strategically across the country for another epic battle. Nynaeve and Elayne have found a clan of rejected Accepted who still use the One Power and who can help them find the item they have been searching for in Ebou Dar. Egwene is trying to gain hold as the newly elected Amyrlin Seat, and Mat and Perrin are playing supporting roles to Rand.
This was the first book since the first few in the series where I found myself gliding through the pages at a rapid pace. I just couldn’t put it down…I needed to see what was going to happen next in each diverging storyline. There is enough action between the large reveals that I didn’t feel bored or averse to picking it up daily. I’m hoping this trend continues on into the next few books at least, otherwise it will take me a lot longer than I had planned to get through the series. I’m crossing my fingers that the slump is over.
