I decided to pick up the second book in the Cormoran Strike mystery series. I have to say I was just as impressed by this novel as I was the first. An English author has written a sensational novel exposing secrets of those closest to him; and now he’s been found murdered in the same manner as his protagonist in his book. Who’s dirty secret was big enough to want him dead before the book could go to publishing? Find out but following in the footsteps of Strike as he gets to the bottom of this grisly murder.
Just as I had said in my review of The Cuckoo’s Calling (book #1 in this series), Galbraith had me guessing who the killer was until the very end. The writer does such an amazing job of making every character look just as plausible as the next. I also really enjoyed the further development of the side storyline he had going in the first book with his secretary. They are a great duo with much more potential in future detective cases.
I would recommend this book to people who like J.K. Rowlings narratives and to people who love murder mysteries.
